Duane Vermeulen has been called up to the Springbok squad as a replacement for the injured Coenie Oosthuizen.

Oosthuizen underwent a scan after injuring his knee against Ireland on Saturday, with the results showing that he had sustained medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligament damage. He will require surgery, and is set for an extended period of time of out of the game.

Vermeulen, who plays for French club Toulon, will join the Bok squad on Monday at their base in Paris.

The Boks started their preparations with a gym and field training session on Monday. The team to play against France at the Stade de France will be confirmed on Thursday.
