The Bulls in a huddle

The Vodacom Bulls and Lions have both received good news on Monday as their squads tested negative for the coronavirus.

The two teams had to cut their respective tours to Australia and New Zealand short after the 2020 Vodacom Super Rugby season was suspended due to the global pandemic.

According to Sunday newspaper Rapport, the Bulls will remain in self-isolation until the end of March, when a decision will be made over whether it is right for them to return to training.

Bulls coach Pote Human said once the team is out of isolation, they would look for a safe way to train, with groups of five taking part in mini excercises.

Meanwhile, the Lions went into a 14-day self-isolation period following their return to South Africa, but squad members are keeping in contact with the medical team on a daily basis, a spokesperson told Sport24.
