Cheetahs captain Torsten van Jaarsveld has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks with a neck injury.
The hooker sustained the injury while playing for Namibia in the World Rugby Nations Cup, which took place in Uruguay in June.
Van Jaarsveld will miss the rest of the Cheetahs’ Super Rugby campaign and will also be sidelined for their first six Currie Cup games.
He will only be back for the Cheetahs’ match against the Sharks in Durban on 2 September.
