Andries Ferreira has joined the Hurricanes as a replacement for injured second-rower Sam Lousi.
Lousi suffered a pectoral tear last month that ruled him out for the season.
‘I’ve got a lot of respect for the way Andries plays and approaches the game, and we believe he is going to be a great asset to the squad,’ said Hurricanes coach John Plumtree.
Ferreira will be available for the Hurricanes’ match against the Highlanders in Wellington on Friday.
