Shaun Reynolds will start at flyhalf for the Lions against the Stormers on Saturday after Elton Jantjies was left out of the match 23 for breaching team protocol.

The Lions confirmed that Jantjies’ absence was not because he is being rested, but because he disregarded team protocols.

The only other change to the backline sees Ross Cronjé replace Nic Groom in the starting lineup.

There are a couple of alterations up front, most notably the return of hooker Malcolm Marx at the expense of Jan-Henning Campher. Tighthead prop Carlü Sadie is also back in place on Johannes Jonker.

Vincent Thsituka is preferred at blindside flank this week, with Cyle Brink moving to openside and Marnus Schoeman shifting to the bench.
