Lock Marvin Orie will start as one of nine changes to the Lions team to take on the Jaguares in Buenos Aires on Saturday.
Courtnall Skosan, Harold Vorster, Ross Cronje, Warren Whiteley, Andries Ferriera and Robbie Coetzee are the only survivors from the side that thumped the Waratahs 55-36 at Ellis Park on last weekend.
Orie, who joined the Lions the from the Bulls, will make his debut for the Lions, while props Dylan Smith and Johannes Jonker, who will earn his first Super Rugby cap, are added to the front row.
Flanks Kwagga Smith and Cyle Brink are elevated to starting roles in place of Jaco Kriel and Ruan Ackermann.
In the backline, Shaun Reynolds will play flyhalf, Anthony Watson comes in at left wing, Jacques Nel is the preferred outside centre and Jaco van der Walt will play fullback.
