Rohan Janse van Rensburg is set to undergo a knee operation that will rule him out of the Boks’ June series, and the majority of the Super Rugby season.
The Lions centre suffered a lateral collateral ligament tear and posterolateral corner injury in last weekend’s clash against the Stormers, and it was confirmed on Thursday that he will be out of action for 12 weeks. Janse van Rensburg will go under the knife on Friday.
As a result, Janse van Rensburg will not be available for the Boks’ three-Test series in June, while he’s likely to miss the rest of the Super Rugby league stage.
However, the good news is that he should be able to make a return in time to be considered for the Super Rugby playoffs and the Boks’ Rugby Championship campaign.
