For many Capetonians, the storm they are wishing for should bring the rain, but we’ll have to settle for the Stormers.
Considering that this is a true South African derby, it’s no ill wind. In fact, it could well bring the perfect storm as far as rugby fans are concerned.
The Bulls have certainly lost more talent than they were able to add for this year’s Super rugby. The only notable signing is Lood de Jager, and he is regarded as outclassed by both of the Stormers locks, Pieter-Steph du Toit and Eben Etzebeth.
I have tried to find a reason why the Bulls will be able to offer anything but token resistance, and I simply can’t. The Stormers were more active in the off-season and have managed to maintain a more balanced side.
I like the Stormers to win and win well, by at least 10 points. A R250 bet for the Stormers to win by at least 10 points will pay you R325 plus your stake back.
I also really like the 9/20 on offer for a yellow card in this game and will be putting down R1,000 for that to happen. It pays R450 plus your R1,000 stake back.
