Stormers director of rugby Gert Smal has suggested that they will report referee Mike Fraser to Sanzaar following his performance in Saturday’s game against the Chiefs.
The Stormers lost 15-9 to the Chiefs, but questions were raised regarding Sanzaar’s decision to appoint a Kiwi referee for a match between the New Zealand team and the Cape-based side at Newlands.

Smal has since revealed that he will take up that matter, as well as the quality of Fraser’s performance, with Sanzaar referees boss Lyndon Bray.
‘I’m not happy with the referee’s performance, it wasn’t good enough,’ Smal told Netwerk24.
Smal didn’t say which aspects of Fraser’s performance the Stormers were unhappy about, but they allegedly took offence to his handling of the scrums.
‘We’ll support our feedback with video footage,’ Smal added.
