The Springboks have not beaten the All Blacks at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium in six attempts, writes JUANDRE JOUBERT.

The Boks’ only success at the venue came in the 2011 World Cup against Wales (by a point) and Fiji. The Boks also infamously lost the World Cup quarter-final to Australia at Westpac Stadium.

The Springboks’ worst defeat against the All Blacks in Wellington was in 2011 when they fielded a second-string team and lost 40-7.

The Boks famously won the second Test of the 1981 series 24-12 at the old Athletic Park.

In the professional era, South Africa beat the All Blacks 13-3 at Athletic Park in 1998. Pieter Rossouw scored the only try of the Test as the Springboks went on to win the then Tri-Nations for the first time. The stadium was closed the following year.

The All Blacks have an average winning score of 30-13 against the Boks at Westpac Stadium. They also score on average three tries a Test.

The All Blacks have only lost three times in 18 years at Westpac Stadium. The most recent defeat was a year ago against the British & Irish Lions. The Test will be remembered for Sonny Bill Williams being red-carded with more than an hour to go and the Lions fighting back from an 18-9 deficit to triumph 24-21 thanks to a last-minute penalty from Owen Farrell.
