The Premier League continues to thrill fans around the world and week 36 is unlikely to be any different, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
Seven things to expect from this weekend’s Premier League action:
1) Man United and Arsenal to draw:
In the pick of this weekend’s games, Manchester United travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal. Both teams and their managers have a rivalry which dates back a number of years, but unlike years gone by where this battle could decide the league, it could now rather have a significant impact in the top four race. With both teams outside the Champions League places, they will both be looking to pick up three points. However, with both teams showing major inconsistencies, a draw looks a likely result.
2) Hull to pile more misery on relegated Sunderland:
After suffering another defeat, which ultimately saw them being relegated from the Premier league, Sunderland will travel to take on Hull City, who are still fighting for their survival. Expect Hull to rise to the challenge and gain the three points which will keep them out of the relegation zone, for now at least.
3) Chelsea to ease past Boro:
Chelsea will be looking to gain another three points in their charge for the title as they host relegation-threatened Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge this weekend. With Boro all but relegated, expect the Blues to be too strong at home and walk away as comfortable winners.
4) Spurs to edge West Ham:
After an impressive North London derby win over Arsenal last time out, Spurs travel to the Olympic Stadium for another London Derby, this time against West Ham. This Friday night fixture could prove to be a tightly contested one, but expect Spurs, who are still trying to catch Chelsea, to edge an inconsistent West Ham on the night.
5) Gabriel Jesus to score for City:
After making a scoring return from injury, Gabriel Jesus will be looking to further impress manager Pep Guardiola as his Manchester City side host Crystal Palace. Expect the young Brazilian to be at it again this weekend, and get his name on the score sheet against Palace.
6) Liverpool to beat the Saints:
In what could prove to be a defining game in Liverpool’s season, they host Southampton at Anfield this weekend. With the top four pressure mounting on Jurgen Klopp’s men, expect a big performance in front of their home crowd as another three points will take them closer to Champions League football.
7) Vardy to continue scoring streak:
Jamie Vardy has been in superb form for Leicester City since Craig Shakespeare took over, scoring seven goals in his last nine matches. Expect Vardy to continue this scoring run as the Foxes host Watford at the King Power Stadium.
