Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi relishes the chance to take on Cape Town City in the opening round of the Telkom Knockout Cup.
The Glamour Boys are set to travel to Cape Town Stadium to face off against the Citizens in the round of 16 after the knockout draw in Randburg on Wednesday.
The last-16 round is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 18-20 October, with the final scheduled for 14 December.
However, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) competitions committee will announce the match logistics in due course.
Akpeyi is happy with the progress Amakhosi has made so far this campaign and is looking forward to the opportunity of winning their first piece of silverware in four years.
‘We have started well this season,’ Akpeyi told his club’s official website.
‘We are still working on sharpening some elements of our game. It is still early in the season, but we are happy with the progress thus far and ready for any opponent.
‘This is another opportunity for us to win a trophy. We are looking forward to our travel to Cape Town and to do the rest of the talking on the field of play.’
