SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter says he expected more from his side following their 1-1 with Golden Arrows in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

Matsatsantsa were forced to played to their third draw in the Absa Premiership following their stalemate against Abafana Bes’thende at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

United took the lead in the 13th minute through striker Kingston Nkhatha before Musa Bilankulu scored a 29th-minute equaliser.

However, Matsatsantsa goalkeeper Ronwen Williams saved a penalty from Wayde Jooste in the 77th minute as United held on for a share of the spoils with the home side and Baxter believes that it changed the shape of the game.

‘The sending off obviously affects the game, then they get the penalty and Ronza saved it, that broke their hearts a little bit,’ Baxter said after the game.

‘I think we rode out the storm well and at the finish, we were giving as good as we got and could have sneaked it.

‘You get a man sent off and I think they [my players] panicked a little bit, our shape became poor and that’s maybe a little bit of immaturity but what they did do was they worked, and they got themselves back into the game by working very hard.

Baxter says he was expecting more from his side but insists that he is delighted to have walked away with a point.

‘That resilience, you know we’ve been on the road nine days with three away games and they’ve done well, we’ve picked up five points,’ he added.

‘Tonight I was hoping for more because we went out for more but as the game unfolded I think both teams are probably happy with a point.
