Brazil will look to avenge their humiliating 7-1 loss suffered at the hands of Germany, when the two sides face off in an international friendly on Tuesday.

This is just one of a host of fixtures which will have football fans foaming at the mouth as teams from around the world step up their preparation for the World Cup in Russia.

The Selecao take on Die Mannschaft looking to make a statement against the reigning world champions that they are ready to challenge for football’s top prize.

England, who qualified for the World Cup without losing a single game, will take on Italy, who failed to qualify for the first time since 1958.

Portugal and Netherlands will resume their rivalry as the two battle it out on Monday. The two teams, however, have contrasting focuses: while Fernando Santos’ team are preparing for the World Cup, the Oranje missed out on qualification and will be looking to start the rebuilding process under new coach Ronald Koeman.

African nations Egypt and Nigeria will also be in action. The Pharos narrowly lost 2-1 to Portugal last week, courtesy of two very late Cristiano Ronaldo goals, whereas the Super Eagles edged Poland 1-0 in their friendly last Friday. Both teams will be up against European opponents in Greece and Serbia.

Usually, football fans around the world dread the international break as it brings a halt to all the club football action which has become the obsession of millions. This time, however, fans will be treated to a number of mouth-watering clashes as the teams heading to the World Cup look to test themselves against top quality opponents.
