AmaZulu right back Wayde Jooste says they respect Stellenbosch FC for what they have accomplished but do not fear them ahead of their Carling Knockout Cup opener on Friday.
Usuthu will play host to the defending champions when the two teams square off at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.
This will be the first test for newly appointed coaches Arthur Zwane and Vusimuzi Vilakazi.
Jooste, who has made two appearances for Usuthu this season, says they will be their best to claim the win against a team high on confidence at the moment.
“Obviously they’ve earned that respect from what they’ve done last season, how they started this season, we have to respect them. But it doesn’t mean we have to fear them,” Jooste said.
“We going to go out and do our best to win on the day because we don’t go on the field being scared of the opponents, then their is no reason for us to go out and play.”
