Manqoba Mngqithi praised counterpart Clinton Larsen ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns’ Carling Knockout Cup final showdown against Magesi FC.
The Brazilians made their way to the final after they secured a 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants thanks to goals from Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Neo Maema at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Magesi FC, meanwhile, booked their place after clinching a 1-0 win over Richards Bay after Tshepo Mashigo netted the winning goal at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.
Mngqithi has warned his side not to underestimate the newly promoted side when the two sides do battle in the final.
“It’s a complicated team, Clinton [Larsen] is a one of those coaches he’s resolute in defence and he’s got interesting players offensively, they are a very strong team,” the 53-year-old told SuperSport after the game.
“I must commend what the Limpopo teams have done in terms of recruitment. I think they’ve got very formidable teams. I think Marumo is a very good team and this for me is very interesting because it makes competition in the PSL to be fierce.
“And with the support Marumo is getting here, it makes it very interesting in the PSL, because nobody knows which match he’s going to win and which match he’s going to lose, so personally I’m just excited we’re in the final.”
