AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane admits Stellenbosch FC are “oozing confidence” but insists they have to find a way to “neutralise” them.

Usuthu are set to welcome the defending champions Stellies to the King Zwelithini Stadium when the two teams square off in the opening round of the Carling Knockout Cup.

The Durban-based outfit have had a slow start to the 2024-25 campaign, having suffered three consecutive defeats in the Betway Premiership.

Stellies, meanwhile, have played 11 matches and have won seven, drawn two, and only conceded two defeats so far this season.

Zwane is hoping he and his co-coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi can turnaround the clubs fortunes this campaign starting with their clash against Stellies.

“We’re playing against a top team, there’s no doubt about it,” Zwane told his club’s official website.

“They are oozing confidence, they’ve been doing very well. We’re expecting nothing but a tough game. It’s all up to us on how we neutralise them.

“Our players know what is at stake and we also know. This is one game for me that will be a confidence booster, and for the players as well.”
