Defending Champions League winners Real Madrid travel to Signal Iduna Park to take on the in-form Borussia Dortmund in the headline Champions League clash on Tuesday.

The pair have contested some exciting matches in recent years as Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund destroyed Real 4-1 t home en route to a 5-2 aggregate victory back in 2013, while Real avenged that loss the following season with a stunning 3-0 second-leg victory to storm into the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate.

Los Blancos started the season in imperious form as they currently sit unbeaten at the top of La Liga. That said, the side recently saw their run of 16-straight Spanish top flight victories ended by successive draws. Dortmund, meanwhile, started the season with a shock defeat to minnows RB Leipzig but have bounced back in tremendous style to win their last four games on the trot, hitting an incredible 20 goals in the process.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane will have to make do without first choice defensive midfielder Casemiro for the tie while flying wing back Marcelo is also out with an injury. The side will, on the other hand, welcome back Fabio Coentrao following a long spell on the sidelines.

Dortmund will be without centre backs Marc Bartra and Neven Subotic for the clash while fullback Erik Durm has also been ruled out. Further forward, the side is still missing star wing Marco Reus following his injury in the side’s cup final loss to Bayern Munich towards the end of last season.

Elsewhere, Premier League contenders Tottenham Hotspur face a challenging away trip to CSKA Moscow as they seek to bounce back from a shock loss to Monaco last round, while Leicester City will be hoping they play to their full potential as they welcome Portuguese giants Porto.

Claudio Ranieri will be hoping to see a different side to the one that was torn apart at Old Trafford on Saturday as Leicester look to make it two from two in their debut campaign in Europe’s elite club competition.
