Khama Billiat of Kaizer Chiefs

According to reports in Morocco, Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat is a wanted man after his impressive performance during Zimbabwe’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Maghribfoot.com reports that Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca are heavily interested in the services of the forward, who has spent just one season at Chiefs following his free transfer from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The report suggests that technical director of Raja Fathi Jamal was impressed by Billiat after watching him in action in Egypt during Afcon, and Jamal apparently is eyeing the Zimbabwean to come in and replace Zakaria Hadraf, who has left Raja for Saudi Arabia.

Billiat’s agent Mike Ngobeni admitted that there is interest in his client, but said they would have to speak to Chiefs first should they wish to sign the player.

‘Of course all the big clubs in Egypt wish to have him still. I’m overwhelmed with phone calls from Morocco, Tunisia also. I told them they must contact Kaizer Chiefs, he is not a free player, he is employed,’ Ngobeni told KickOff.com.

‘The boy was in Afcon and he did very well although the team was eliminated early. But, yes, I’m seized with phone calls you know, I’m seized with phone calls … Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia … Casablanca and all those clubs, they did contact me but at the end of the day from my side I can’t say anything because they must talk to Chiefs,’ he concluded.

However, any club interested in his services would have to fork out a significant transfer fee as the forward still has two years left on his current deal at Naturena.
