PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns will begin the defence of their Absa Premiership title in a hotly contested fixture against Kaizer Chiefs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The opening match between defending champions Downs and Chiefs will take place on Saturday, 4 August with kick-off at 3pm.
Later that day, former champions Bidvest Wits will be host last season’s Nedbank Cup champions Free State Stars at 6pm.

In another mouth-watering clash on the opening day, SuperSport United travel to Cape Town to play Cape Town City, also at 6pm.
Rounding off the day, newly promoted side Highlands Park will begin their Absa Premiership campaign when they do battle against an ambitious Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium with kick-off at 8:15pm. At the same time, Amazulu will be hosting Baroka FC at King Zwelithini Stadium.

The action continues on Sunday, as last season’s surprise package Maritzburg United will be up against Lamontville Golden Arrows in the KwaZulu-Natal derby at Harry Gwala Stadium at 3pm.
At the same time, Bloemfontein Celtic will test Chippa United, who have done some fantastic business in the transfer window, and will be looking to get off to a good start at the Dr Molemela Stadium.
The PSL also confirmed that the last fixture of the Absa Premiership will be played on 11 May 2019 while the Nedbank Cup final will be played a week later, on 18 May 2019.
