Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus admits he is happy to be back home and feels “privilege and honour” to partake in the latest edition of the Soweto derby.
The Buccaneers are set to welcome Kaizer Chiefs to the Orlando Stadium as they go in search of maximum points and bragging rights against their Soweto rivals.
Pirates comes into this match sitting in fourth place on the log with 19 points from 12 matches, while Amakhosi are placed one place below them on 18 points.
Erasmus, who has been in impressive form for Pirates, insists they will do whatever it takes to ensure the Buccaneers walk away with a positive result.
“The occasion is a special one, and it’s a privilege and honour to be a part of it again now that I’m back home,” Erasmus told Orlandopiratesfc.com in an exclusive interview.
“Obviously creating the three goals in a 3-1 win brings back fond memories for me personally.
“Everybody talks about the individual brilliance leading to the goals, but for me the whole team performance stands out along with the atmosphere.
“That’s the memory that people always remind me of when it comes to the Derby. Hopefully, we can bring our supporters a similar kind of joy on the weekend.”
