World football governing body Fifa has acknowledged Yusuf Maart’s sensational goal for Kaizer Chiefs and could potentially make the Puskas Award list.
Maart scored what could be a contender for goal of the season after he produced a stunning striker from his own half to beat the Buccaneer’s goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane in the 74th minute in the Soweto derby this past weekend.
However, Fifa has now recognised his wonder striker as a contender to potentially earn a place on the list of Puskas award winners for the year 2022.
Speaking on Maart’s goal, Fifa said this on their official Twitter page: “A stunning goal to win the Soweto Derby. This strike from Kaizer Chiefs Yusuf Maart could be one for the Puskas list.
“Who do you think deserves the award for the most spectacular goal of the year? Use #Puskas to share your contenders!”
