France suffered a shock setback at Euro 2020 after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hungary in Budapest.
France started the game well but were struggling to find the killer blow despite forging several opportunities with Hungary keeper Péter Gulácsi proving difficult to beat.
The world champions were then made to pay for their misses moments before the break, as Hungary took a shock lead when Atilla Fiola raced through down the left and finished at the near post to an explosion of noise.
France were denied a leveller by the woodwork when substitute Ousmane Dembélé came off the bench to blast a strike against the post before they did ultimately equalise in the second half.
The equalising goal eventually came from Antoine Griezmann in the 66th minute after he capitalised on a long ball forward from Hugo Lloris to turn Kylian Mbappe’s redirected pass into the net and rescue a point.
The result keeps France top on four points, while Hungary move on to one ahead of Germany’s clash with Portugal next.
