Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret says that they are keen on avenging the league loss suffered at the hands of Bloemfontein Celtic, when the two sides meet in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.

The Mayfair based-outfit picked up only their second victory whilst under the tutelage of Jonevret when they thumped Free State Stars 4-1 to set-up a clash with Phunya Sele Sele in the Nedbank Cup.
Celtic came from a goal down to register a memorable 2-1 victory against Pirates on the final day of the 2015-16 season, courtesy of strikes by Lantshene Phalane and Tshepo Rikhotso.
Jonevret highlighted his side’s home ground advantage for the tie – having played their last three games away from home in all competitions.
‘Last year I think we played five away games, and this is the first home draw for two years, so it should be fun to play at home against Celtic,’ Jonevret told SuperSportTV.
‘I can’t say I’ve watched Celtic too much as we still have to play them later [in the league], but I know my players will be up for revenge as we had a really bad result against them before Christmas.
‘So many of my players will look forward to this clash,’ He added.
The Soweto giants will be vying for their first piece of silverware after finishing as runners-up in last edition of the tournament in addition to enduring a disappointing league campaign thus far, which has seen them go 12 consecutive games without a victory as they languish in 12th spot on the table – five points above bottom-placed Baroka.
Ironically, the last major domestic trophy that Pirates won was the Nedbank Cup in 2014 after they came from a goal down to secure a 3-1 victory against Bidvest Wits in the final.
Orlando Pirates will now welcome Maritzburg United to the Orlando Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday.
Kick-off has been set for 19:30.
