Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan says the imminent return of midfielder Adam Lallana from injury could prove to be a huge boost in their Champions League aspirations.
Jurgen Klopp’s side’s top-four hopes took a massive dent when they were condemned to a 2-1 defeat in their most recent Premier League encounter with forward Christian Benteke netting a brace against his former team.
Th Reds who face Watford in their next league clash could be boosted by the return of their influential England international and Klavan has touted his presence to make a big difference in their pursuit of a top-four spot.
‘It could be massive,’ he told Liverpool’s official website.
‘Every player who comes back is needed for us and gives us more options in the squad.
‘His pace and capacity in the game is really vital for us. He is a really good player and a really good person. He helps us a lot, especially with four hard games to go,’ he added.
The centre-back also missed his side’s last two encounters due to ligament injury and is hopeful of being in contention for a starting-berth against the Hornets.
‘It is better now – I have started to train with the squad. It looks like it is fine.
‘You never know in life, but the injury is a lot better now. I have trained once with the squad and on other occasions with the fitness coach. Everything is going as planned, so that is nice,’ he added.
