Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela insists that his side are marching on following their 2-0 victory over Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.

The Glamour Boys claimed their third consecutive PSL win following their triumph over Ea Lla Koto at the James Motlatsi Stadium.

Amakhosi midfielder Willard Katsande opened the scoring with a 10th minute penalty before Mitchell Katsvairo handed Chiefs their second goal in the 63rd minute.

The 49-year-old says he was not entirely delighted by his side’s victory but insists that Amakhosi did enough to overcome a physical Stars side.

‘You can’t be happy, sometimes as you move on and there’s more pluses you tend to get complacent, you cannot afford that in football, worse when it’s 1-0 and you’re playing against a team that’s very physical,’ Komphela after the game.

‘Free State Stars is very physical which anyway you cannot complain about, you have to then bring your tools and our best tool is technique. If they bring physique, let’s bring technique, get closer to one another so that we play at ease.

Komphela added that his side showed determination to win the ball back when they lost possession and have improved their performance, declaring that Chiefs are marching on after recording their third straight win.

‘One thing I thought we did very well today, as soon as we lost possession you could see us spraying forward wanting to get it back,’ he added.

‘We’re delighted with the victory … we’re marching on.’

After the international break, Kaizer Chiefs will welcome Ajax Cape Town to the Moses Mabhida Stadium for an Absa Premiership clash on October 15.

Kick-off has been scheduled for 18:00.
