Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela cut a frustrated figure following his side’s 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows, which all but ended their chances of lifting the Absa Premiership trophy this season.
The Glamour Boys conceded their third consecutive goal in added time against Arrows to ensure that Clinton Larsen’s side get a share of the spoils. The former Maritzburg United mentor admits that he doesn’t know what to do regarding his side’s tendency to ‘give matches away.’

‘It’s tiring, what else can you do? I don’t know how many matches we’ve given away,’ he said in post-match comments.
‘If you look back again, it won’t help you, but I can’t believe matches that we give away for no apparent reason.
‘Even in April we were supposed to be sitting on 51 points, but we are giving away matches.
‘Last minute, you know that four minutes has been raised, you’ve gone through three, defend for your life. I’m just disappointed, but what can you do,’ he added.

Komphela revealed his delight for out-of-favour striker Ryan Moon, whom he believes took his goal well, four minutes after being introduced as a second-half substitute.
‘They (Arrows) looked deadly when they came out, even in the first half they caught us. I thought we were not as crisp coming in the counter attacks and our game was not as fluid.
‘We did get chances, beautiful goal by (Ryan) Moon but again, should we have drawn this match, not at all. We’ve suffered so many similar setbacks, it seems we don’t want to learn. For whatever reason we don’t learn,’ he conlcuded.
