Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch has lauded the effect that Milutin Sredojevic and his coaching staff has had on the squad.
The Bafana Bafana player has praised the unity that the coach, affectionately known as ‘Micho’, and his technical team have brought to the Buccaneers squad. The side has been transformed under the Serbian and sit just one point behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns going into the final stretch. They have turned into genuine title contenders despite Micho insistently playing down their chances of becoming champions.
Lorch has benefited from the arrival of Micho and his assistant Rhulani Mokwena, who has become an integral part of the Pirates team. He has scored in each of his last three games and will be hoping to continue his scoring run after the international break when they play Bloemfontein Celtic.
The winger has scored four goals and made two assists in the second half of the season, with his form catching the eye of national coach Stuart Baxter, who called him up for Bafana’s Four Nations tournament in Zambia.
Speaking during a Bafana press conference, Lorch said, ‘I think now we are together as a team. The coaches brought that spirit in the team.’
