Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka has revealed that his latest injury lay-off left him heartbroken, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
The former SuperSport United player has become an integral part of the Amakhosi team under Steve Komphela and has been a huge miss since his injury at the beginning of February.
Maluleka missed some vital games for the Naturena-based side, including the damaging 3-1 loss to rivals Orlando Pirates.
Now back from his injury the midfielder revealed, during a media day building up to the fixture against Chippa United, that his latest injury left him heartbroken.
“Ya, I think injuries will always be there. It was obviously heartbreaking after starting very well this season but I’m doing well and looking to help the team going forward.’
‘You only have so much control over an injury and its gone. I’m back at training with the guys and available for team selection. I’m excited to be involved in the last five games’
Speaking about the games he missed, Maluleka said ‘It’s always heartbreaking because when you always involved in the team, you always have that feeling that I could have made a difference. It’s always heartbreaking but that’s how football goes.’
The midfielder will be in contention for selection when Chiefs take on Chippa United this Saturday in the Absa Premiership, with kick off at 3pm.
