Cape Town City winger Mark Mayambela relishes the chance to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout Cup this weekend.
The Citizens are set to welcome Amakhosi to the Cape Town Stadium in the last 16 of the knockout competition.
The last time the two sides met in Cape Town, Amakhosi walked away with all three points in the Absa Premiership after they came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at Newlands Stadium in August.
After scoring a debut goal during City’s 2-1 defeat by AmaZulu, Mayambela looks forward to putting in another impressive performance against the Soweto giants.
‘Of course, like any other player you always look forward to these kind of games, especially playing against Chiefs … they are on a high at the moment,’ Mayambela said.
‘It is games that a player doesn’t need much motivation [for] from the outside, but the game itself. I’m also looking forward to it, and hopefully, I can contribute to the team, and also that we can go further than the last 16.’
Cape Town City against Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 3pm.
