Joseph Molangoane believes Kaizer Chiefs are one step closer to claiming their first piece of silverware this season, starting with the AmaZulu clash on Saturday.

The 29-year-old could only manage to make three appearances for Amakhosi  in this campaign against Mamelodi Sundowns SuperSport and Orlando Pirates.

The attacking midfielder insists the squad are keen to win the Telkom Knockout competition, having already claimed the Carling Black Label Champion Cup, Maize Cup and the Macufe Cup.

‘Everyone in the team wants to win this cup,’ Molangoane told his club’s official website.

‘It would be a nice Christmas present for our supporters, who have been so loyal to us. However, it is still a long road to go. We will take it one step at a time, and facing AmaZulu on Saturday will be the first hurdle to cross.’

Kaizer Chiefs will next welcome AmaZulu to the Moses Mabhida Stadium when the two sides meet in the Telkom Knockout Cup on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 20:15.
