Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he has accepted his side’s 2-0 defeat to Baroka in the Telkom Knockout on Saturday.

The Brazilians’ search for success in the knockout competition came to an end when they were eliminated by the Limpopo-based outfit at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Mosimane admits that he has no issue with the penalty awarded to the home team, insisting that’s how football goes while stating that he will move on to the next game following their exit.

‘This game was not meant for us, let’s be honest. We played well but we were never showing that we are about to score,’ Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the match.

‘It’s a cup game, it’s an awkward game. It’s a handball, it’s a penalty. It is a penalty. It’s a deflection then it’s a goal. It’s 2-0, you’re out, it’s part of the game. You have to accept and move on. Congratulations to them.’

The Sundowns mentor added that his side will be patient in trying to find their form following their slow start to the Absa Premiership campaign.

‘We can’t win all the time and all the games. It’s a cup game, they worked hard for it,’ he added.

‘It’s part of football, there’s gonna be more upsets like this in our football careers. If you don’t want to accept it then you should not be in football. If you don’t want to lose sometimes then who must lose?’
