Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama says his team has to lift their heads up and start focusing on the Absa Premiership following their exit from the Telkom Knockout.

The Buccaneers were eliminated from the competition after suffering a 4-2 defeat on penalties at the hands of Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium.

Man of the Match, Nyatama says he was disappointed by the outcome of the match and felt that his side should’ve wrapped up the game within the first half.

‘Very disappointing result, we’re disappointed. We wanted to go to the next round but unfortunately it didn’t happen. We need to lift our heads up and focus on the league now,’ Nyatama told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘It is very hard to play against them [Polokwane City ]. They can play quick one-two’s. We missed a lot of chances in the first half, we also missed a penalty. We should have wrapped up the game in the first half it is just unfortunate we couldn’t go to the next round.’

The 30-year-old admits that his side faces challenges in the final third, but insists that Pirates will work on improving their attacking work rate.

‘That’s the story of our lives. We keep the ball well and create chances but unfortunately we don’t score the chances we create. But we have to focus on scoring and make sure every chance we get we wrap it up,’ he added.

Orlando Pirates will next welcome Golden Arrows to the Orlando Stadium when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on 21 November, with kick-off set for 19:30.
