Orlando Pirates' Brilliant Khuzwayo

Goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo and winger Vincent Pule could feature in Orlando Pirates’ last 16 Telkom Knockout tie against Chippa United after recovering from their respective injuries.

The Soweto giants do duty against the Chill Boys at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night, with the duo of Khuzwayo and Pule set to be in contention for a starting berth.

Khuzwayo, who was snapped up from arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs prior to the start of the 2018-19 campaign has been sidelined for nearly three months after injuring himself in training.

Despite Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic revealing that he is not rushing the former AmaZulu shot stopper back into action, the former Chiefs man has made somewhat of a swift recovery since Micho’s words.

Pule, who signed from Bidvest Wits has already been heavily involved in his sides progress in the season thus far, most recently winning the dominating the club’s monthly awards as he walked away with not only the Player of the Month award, but the Goal of the Month award too.

‘Pule didn’t play in our last match against AmaZulu (1-1) and he pulled out of the Bafana Bafana squad‚’ Micho told reporters ahead of his sides TKO clash.

‘He (Pule) has come back and he has worked very hard and he’s on the brink of being at his best.

‘We are looking forward to have Pule’s best possible set pieces.

‘Khuzwayo is a generator of positive energy in the team. He’s worked very hard to come back and is also on the brink of being counted.

‘We shall decide (who starts) but we are happy to have Brilliant back. He has put himself in line for competition with the rest of his teammates,’ he concluded.

The two sides are set to do duty at the Orlando Stadium with kickoff set for 8:15pm.
