Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet believes that Club Brugge teammate Percy Tau has the ability to carve out a future in the Premier League.
Tau was signed by Brighton and Hove Albion in 2018 but is yet to feature for the Premier League club due to visa restrictions.
Tau spent his first season on loan at Belgium first division side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, where he won the player of the year award after a stellar season.
Tau was then brought in by Belgian title chasers Brugge and was soon joined at the club by Mignolet, who arrived from Liverpool.
Both the Bafana Bafana star and the former Sunderland goalkeeper have quickly adapted to their new surroundings and Mignolet believes that his teammate has a future in the English top flight.
Speaking to The Athletic, the Belgium international praised Tau’s ability ahead of their clash with Real Madrid.
‘He’s a very quick player. With the speed he’s got and the actions he can create and his dangerous left foot, he’s got all the ability to play in the Premier League in the future – definitely.’
The former Mamelodi Sundowns man has started the campaign in fine form, having already recorded three goals and four assists across 10 games in all competitions.
