Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette’s strike partnership came to the rescue as Arsenal eventually shook off Cardiff City to claim a 3-2 win in the Welsh capital.
Cardiff were almost gifted an early lead but Harry Arter fired over after Petr Cech passed the ball straight to him in the eighth minute.

The Gunners then took the lead when Shkodran Mustafi was allowed the space to power in from Granit Xhaka’s corner with 11 minutes played.
Neil Etheridge was then out quickly to prevent Nacho Monreal from doubling Arsenal’s lead before Lacazette sent a low shot skidding against the base of the post.
With seconds left to play in the first half, Víctor Camarasa took advantage of a fortunate touch which to saw the ball fall his way, having failed to control Joe Bennett’s cross, before producing a thunderous strike which leveled matters
A frequently scrappy encounter enjoyed a moment of stunning quality after the hour and all Arsenal’s star attackers were involved.
Lacazette flicked Mesut Ozil’s pass into Aubameyang’s path and the ex-Borussia Dortmund star curled a wonderful effort pass Etheridge from 25 yards with 62 minutes gone.

It was not enough to dissuade Cardiff, however, and Danny Ward expertly guided Sean Morrison’s header back across goal in off the post with 20 minutes to play as the hosts drew level again.
Lacazette then won all three points for the Gunners as his powerful shot left Etheridge with little chance.
