Roland Putsche admits to not knowing too much about Tokelo Rantie, however, he is looking forward to seeing the former Bafana Bafana international make his debut for Cape Town City.
Benni McCarthy’s side bolstered their squad with the signing of the former Orlando Pirates forward the day after the most recent PSL transfer deadline day.
Rantie, who enjoyed stints in England, Sweden and Turkey is fast-tracking his fitness in a bid to return to action as soon as possible.
‘To be honest, I didn’t know too much about him – I know he is a big name, and that he played for Bafana Bafana and that he played with Benni McCarthy,’ the Putsche told kickoff.
‘But only when we released the signing of him did I do my research properly and speak to my other teammates about him, and saw that he is a very big name in South African football. I’m excited to work with him and to see his full potential – I saw some videos of him, and it’s very promising.
City clawed their way back from two-goals down to play to a 2-2 draw in their most recent Absa Premiership clash and now turn their attention to the MTN8 final against SuperSport United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday night.
