Sekhukhune United have announced that the club have parted ways with head coach Kaitano Tembo with immediate effect.
The 52-year-old mentor was released from his duty following a poor string of results that has seen Babina Noko only claim one win in their last 10 matches.
He leaves the club sitting joint-bottom of the table with Maritzburg United on 11 points from 12 matches played so far this season.
Sekhukhune will now begin their search for a new head coach, but will not make a further statement on the matter.
“I wish to thank Coach Kaitano for his dedication and hard work whilst at the Club”, said Sekhukhune’s CEO Jonas Malatji in an official statement.
“Ever the Professional that he is, and with his impeccable work ethic, the decision to part ways was an extremely difficult one. Sport in general and football in particular is result driven, and this remains true for the club that find itself in a very precarious position in the DSTV Premiership.”
Meanwhile, Tembo said on his departure: “I wish to thank the players for their dedication, the support of the Technical Team and support Staff, and wish the Club and its supporters the very best.”
