Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs made an emotional plea to his teammates following their loss in the MTN8 semi-finals to Cape Town City.
The 37-year-old was visibly emotional in post-match comments and spoke of his disappointment at his side’s showing on the field of play.
The reigning MTN8 champions suffered their third defeat against Benni McCarthy’s men this season and the PSL’s most-capped player said that his teammates did not display the needed hunger to win the game.
“That hunger and desire to win to want to win games. You can’t just want to think you going to win the game, because of the players we have, we need to prove it on the field as well.
“There was a bit of motivation talk inside [the dressing room at half-time] and that got us worked up and we came out and same thing again, no hunger and desire,” he added.
Josephs insisted that he wasn’t disappointed that his side missed out on the opportunity to retain their title, but rather with the way they went about their business on the field of play, claiming that the players display ‘no hunger and desire’
