Kaizer Chiefs starlet Wandile Duba has given his opinion on Relebohile Mofokeng’s rise to stardom at Orlando Pirates.

The teenage prodigies have previously faced off in the DStv Diski Challenge before they were promoted to the first team at their respective clubs.

Duba broke through into the Amakhosi team during the 2022–23 season and failed to cement his place in the starting line-up, having scored one goal and one assist in 17 appearances across all competitions to date.

Mofokeng, meanwhile, joined the Amakhosi first team that same season and has already established himself in the squad, having scored nine goals and registered 10 assists in 50 appearances, while winning four trophies in the process.

Duba believes his time to shine will come, especially with Nasreddine Nabi at the helm, while he believes Mofokeng has benefitted from have stability at Pirates.

“The difference between us is that I was playing in a struggling team while he was at a well-structured club with less pressure,” said Duba as per FARPost.

“Pirates are doing well, so everything he does looks good. I’ve also had to deal with many coaching changes, whereas he’s had stability with one coach.”

“Coach Nabi has really changed my mentality and is helping me grow as a player,” Duba continued.

“I never thought I could play on the wing, but he saw my speed and intelligence and believed I could do it. I’m happy to play wherever the coach needs me.”
