Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Yusuf Maart from DStv Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United.
Maart has now become Amakhosi’s sixth signing behind Ashley du Preez, Zitha Kwinika, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Dillon Solomons and Siyethemba Sithebe.
The 26-year-old joined the Soweto giants, ending speculation about his future after signing a three-year contract.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder enjoyed a stellar season with Babina Noko, contributing to five goals, including three goals and two assists from 28 appearances across all competitions.
Kaizer Chiefs released the following statement on the capture of Maart:
“Kaizer Chiefs have signed Yusuf Moegamat Maart on a three-year deal with a two-year option.
“Maart arrives from Sekhukhune FC where he spent two seasons in the GladAfrica Championship and DStv Premiership. He played a total of 29 matches in the season that has just ended and scored three goals for Babina Noko.
“The midfielder’s club performances have earned him nine national team call-ups between 2021 and 2022, and he is now a regular in the Bafana Bafana set-up.
“Maart will join the team for pre-season training this week.”
