Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen both hit centuries as the Proteas hit up a score of 357-4 against New Zealand in their Cricket World Cup encounter on Wednesday.

With eight fours and three sixes off of 103 balls, De Kock hit his 21st one-day international hundred. He did this while opening with his left hand.

He hit a huge six off of Jimmy Neesham to reach 100.

De Kock also hit 100 runs against Sri Lanka, 109 runs against Australia, and 174 runs in the win over Bangladesh.

He started the day with only 69 runs to go to get to 500 for the tournament. That was when the Proteas were put in to bat in Pune.

After hitting three fours and two sixes in 62 balls, De Kock hit a legside four off of Tim Southee, who was brought back to bowl. This put the score over 500.

In the end, Glenn Phillips caught him off Southee for 114 runs, ending a 200-run partnership for the second wicket.

In 118 balls, Van der Dussen hit 133 runs, with nine fours and five sixes. He kept up the attack.

It was his second hundred of the tournament, following his 108 against Sri Lanka. It was also his sixth hundred in an ODI.

Southee made a big play again when he clean bowled Van der Dussen in the 48th over as he tried to hit the ball over the line.

David Miller hit four sixes in his 53-ball innings, which was the last ball of South Africa’s innings. Aiden Markram came to the wicket for the last ball and hit it for six.

After seamer Matt Henry hurt his hamstring and had to leave the pitch in the middle of his sixth over, New Zealand used seven bowlers.

South Africa came into the game with 10 points from six games and was almost in the semi-finals. New Zealand, on the other hand, had 8 points.
