New signing Joao Felix was sent off on his debut as Chelsea’s woes continue after they fell to a 2-1 defeat to Fulham in a London derby encounter on Thursday.
Graham Potter’s troubled side continued their poor form in the Premier League after they suffered their seventh defeat in their last 10 games in all competitions.
Chelsea went behind in the first half after. former Blues winger Willian opened the scoring at Craven Cottage.
After the break, Kalidou Koulibaly levelled the match, but Chelsea were reduced to 10-men after Felix was sent off for a dangerous studs-up lunge on Kenny Tete.
The game was put beyond the Blues after Carlos Vinicius scored the winning goal after Kepa made a mistake for the Fulham attack to header the ball into an empty net as Fulham walked away with all three points.
“We made a couple of mistakes for their first goal, then the red card changes the game. Disappointed with the second goal because I think we could do better and that is what cost us,” Potter said.
“We have got to keep working. There is no other solution. You have to keep working, stay together and try to get the three points.”
