The mouth-watering DStv Premiership encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns has been rescheduled.
The league fixture was initially supposed to take place on Tuesday, April 30, but it has since been moved to Thursday, May 2.
Amakhosi come into this fixture off the back of their second straight defeat following their 1-0 loss to Richards Bay at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sundowns extended their unbeaten run in the league after their 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday.
Amakhosi currently occupy 10th place on the log with 30 points from 24 games, while Sundowns sit at the top of the table with 56 points from 22 matches.
Chiefs released the following statement on the matter, which reads as follows:
The blockbuster fixture between Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and league leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns, scheduled for next Tuesday, 30 April has been moved out by two days. The new date for the match is Thursday, 2 May 2024.
Supporters who have already purchased tickets for the encounter are urged to hold onto them, as they will be deemed valid for Thursday’s game. Refunds will also be offered to ticket holders who are not able to attend the match as a result of the change, and can be collected from TicketPro outlets around the country.
Tickets for this very crucial match for the Glamour Boys against Masandawana are on sale through TicketPro online at www.ticketpros.co.za or Boxer and Spar Supermarkets, including Sasol and Shell filling stations, as well at Postnet outlet for R60 per ticket.
The match between Chiefs and Sundowns will now kick off at 19:30 on Thursday, 2 May at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
