Grassy Park United were crowned as the 2023 Bayhill Premier Cup champions after they stunned Cape Town Spurs 2-1 in the final at Athlone Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Spurs were hoping to retain their crown but Grassy Park had other ideas as they went on to win their first-ever Bayhill trophy.

Grassy Park managed to take the lead by scoring through Jody Claasen before Ryan Hamdulay got his name on the score sheet to double their lead in the first half.

The Urban Warriors did eventually pull a goal back early in the second half through Nawaaz Salie but it proved to be a consolation goal as Grassy Park completed a great performance by holding out for the win.
