Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the signing of defender Kegan Johannes from Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.

The 23-year-old joins the club on a permanent basis after putting pen to paper on a long-term contract.

Johannes has established himself as one of the best defenders in the league, having scored five goals and registered one assist in 72 appearances across all competitions, playing for Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town Spurs and SuperSport.

He becomes the club’s third signing behind the likes of winger Kobamelo Kodisang and forward Arthur Sales

Mamelodi Sundowns released the following statement on the matter, which reads:

Mamelodi Sundowns are delighted to announce that defender Kegan Johannes has joined The Brazilians on a long-term contract.

Johannes, who has previously captained the South African u23 National Team, has established himself in the domestic league, racking up a number of impressive appearances in the Premier Soccer League and domestic cup competitions.

The versatile defender will join up with his new teammates in Austria to participate in the remaining matches of the pre-season tour to get ready for the upcoming season.
