Bafana Bafana and Montpellier midfielder Keagan Dolly says he is edging closer to a return to action after a two-month spell on the sidelines due to injury.
The former Ajax Cape Town star sustained what looked like a career-threatening injury after fracturing the fibula in his left leg whilst on duty in France.
Dolly took to twitter to reveal that he has made major strides in progress in his bid to recover.
‘Obviously, it’s been a while since I got injured, but I’m closer to getting back to full fitness and to joining the team,’ Dolly said in a video on Twitter.
‘Hopefully this week and next week I’ll start using the ball more, and then in about two weeks I’ll be ready to join the team.
‘Obviously it was disappointing seeing that I got an opportunity to play, and then two minutes into the game I got injured.
‘But, yeah, for me, it’s part of football and it was a time for me to just take some time to focus on what’s good for me.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns star also revealed his hopes for the national team, saying that he is hopeful of return to Start Baxter’s side ahead of their final Afcon qualifier against Libya next year.
‘I think it gave me an opportunity to stay in the gym, work on my body and I’m just happy that the team has been doing well. I can’t wait to join them again.
‘I’m also looking forward to getting back to the national team and hopefully qualify for the Afcon championship,’ he concluded.
