Chippa United have reportedly sacked head coach Clinton Larsen following their 2-1 defeat by Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium over the weekend.
Chippa have endured a slow start to the campaign and failed to win any of their five matches, conceding two defeats and playing to three draws so far.
The Chilli Boys are currently sitting in 13th place in the Absa Premiership standings after a tough start to the season, which already included games against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, reports have suggested that former Bay United defender Duran Francis will take over as caretaker coach.
Larsen, who signed a two-year extension with the Port Elizabeth-based outfit in June, confirmed that he has parted ways with the club due to a bad string of results.
‘Yes, it’s true, I am no longer with Chippa United. It’s due to the same old situation: results,’ Larsen told KickOff.
The 48-year-old leaves his coaching role after eight months at the helm of Chippa, during which he oversaw 22 games with a record of eight wins, six draws and six defeats, while guiding them to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup last term.
