Mamelodi Sundowns and George Lebese have finally parted ways after the club released the winger on deadline day.
Lebese moved to Downs from Kaizer Chiefs in August 2017 with much fanfare, but has failed to make the grade at Chloorkop despite being one of the key players during his successful spell at Naturena.
After a miserable season and a half at Sundowns, the forward departed for SuperSport United for the second half of the 2018-19 season. He, however, didn’t do enough to earn a permanent move to the club, who decided to sign Kudakwashe Mahachi from Orlando Pirates instead.

Lebese, who commented to the media after sealing his loan move to Matsatsantsa, fell out with Mosimane and was training alone throughout pre-season until he was finally released by the club at the end of the transfer window.
The forward will now be free to find himself a new club without the restrictions of the transfer window, and will undoubtedly pique the interest of a number of clubs in the PSL.
