Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Thembinkosi Lorch admits it will be difficult to play his first game against former club Orlando Pirates on Saturday.
The Bloemfontein-born attacker joined the club after spending nine years with the Buccaneers.
He will get the chance to make his debut when Sundowns welcome Pirates to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the DStv Premiership on Saturday evening.
“First of all I would like to take this opportunity to thank my former team, Orlando Pirates, especially Dr Irvin Khoza for giving me the opportunity to play for a team like Orlando Pirates,” Lorch said at a press conference as per IDiskiTimes.
“I remember I signed when I was 22 years and left there when I’m 30, so I’m grateful for the opportunity that he gave me. Pirates will always have a special place in my heart.
“And also I want to thank the President of Mamelodi Sundowns for believing in me, and for bringing me into this beautiful team and I’m looking forward to give my best for this team too.”
The 30-year-old admits it will be an emotional day if he is selected to player against former club Pirates.
“It’s difficult to play my first game, especially against my former team,” Lorch added.
“But ja, life, we need to move on.
“I’m hoping that I will start over the weekend and do my best for my team.”
